Surprize și premiere: Un rezultat neașteptat

Gala din acest an a oferit și un moment extrem de rar: un rezultat egal (tie). La categoria Cel mai bun scurtmetraj live-action, două producții au fost declarate câștigătoare ex aequo: «The Singers» și «Two People Exchanging Saliva».

O altă victorie notabilă a fost cea a peliculei «Sentimental Value», care a devenit primul film din Norvegia care câștigă premiul pentru „Cel mai bun film internațional”.

„Frankenstein” și „Avatar”, marii câștigători la categorii tehnice

Viziunea lui Guillermo del Toro pentru «Frankenstein» a fost recompensată cu trei trofee importante: Cele mai bune costume, Cel mai bun machiaj și coafură și Cea mai bună scenografie.

În zona blockbuster-urilor, «Avatar: Fire and Ash» a confirmat supremația vizuală a lui James Cameron, câștigând Oscarul pentru „Cele mai bune efecte vizuale”, în timp ce «F1» a luat premiul pentru „Cel mai bun sunet”.
